I’m not sure what species of animal these bones belong to, or what we are going to do with them, but for now they live on a little wooden bench in our living room. There’s something nice about a stack of bones — clean, simple and beautiful.
My name is Katie and this is my blog! I write about my house and garden in Victoria BC, my life as a communications professional in Ottawa, and my passions (urban farming, heritage fruit trees, backyard chickens).
My house was built in 1902 and has been in the family since the early 1970's. In those days, a group of free spirits lived communally in the house. Today the house belongs to my brother and I, and this blog is about our experiences renovating, growing our own food, and looking after our heritage fruit trees.
